SOTO DE TORRES

The winery comprises an area of ​​7,800 m² and is located in the heart of the Rioja Alavesa, in the municipality of Labastida. The winery is located in a beautiful place called the Alto Otero that was formerly a scrubland estate. Following the philosophy of Bodegas Torres, led by its president; Miguel A. Torres, the new winery has been designed to work in complete harmony with the environment. The winery has a water treatment plant and a rainwater collection tank that are used to clean the warehouse.

In addition, a great work of landscape integration of the winery has been carried out in the surroundings, by the catalan architect Gabriel Barba (son of the architect Javier Barba, author of the winery Waltraud for estate wines that Bodegas Torres has in the Penedès). It is in this modern winery where the family makes Altos Ibéricos. Altos Ibéricos is a Crianza elaborated 100% with Tempranillo, without a doubt the variety par excellence of the red wines of La Rioja.

To do this, the family has selected the best grapes of the denomination to produce an elegant wine that has subsequently been refined with aging in American and French oak barrels for 12 months and 6 more in bottle. Altos Ibéricos has a rich cherry color. Its aromas of berries, blackberries and blueberries, are pronounced, intense and are in perfect balance with the roasted, caramel and spicy notes coming from the wood. In the mouth, the entrance is silky and round with fine fruit sensations and soft tannins. The aftertaste is long and spicy.
