SOLAR VIEJO

The winery was founded in 1937 in a ‘Casa Solariega’, emblematic stone buildings that rise up inside this walled town.

The name Solar Viejo comes from this stately ‘Casa Solariega’ that gave rise to the first wines.

The winery is located on the Camino de la Hoya, on the outskirts of Laguardia.

Solar Viejo is located in the capital of the Rioja Alavesa, protected by the spectacular Sierra de Cantabria, which prevents the cold and humid winds from the North from penetrating this region, and the Ebro River, which favor a special climate, which promotes the cultivation of the vine.

For generations, Solar Viejo has maintained a deep-rooted relationship with growers. A relationship that, based on a lifelong collaboration, ensures the best quality of the grapes for our products.
