2018 WINE100 Challenge released the award recently, which Rioja sponsored. The Rioja black gold trophy was Viña Herminia Reserva Dry Red Wine which belongs to Bodegas Caballero, S.L.U and totally 6 kinds of Rioja wine won the golden award.

 

 

There were 892 entries this year.  The jury group selected 62 golden, 218 silver, 274 bonze, 14 best buy and 65 recommended award. D.O.Ca Rioja joined the challenge as a group at the first time and submitted almost hundreds entries. Finally, Rioja ranked the third on the list with 86 medals. The award rate is over 88%.

 

 

Bodegas Caballero, S.L.U is also the first year to participate the challenge. Their wine Viña Herminia Reserva Dry Red Wine 2011 won the black gold trophy and the best buy award. But they’re still new to Chinese market. We hope to see their wine more often in the future.
