In recent years, DOCa Rioja has witnessed the interest and demand from the global market for Rioja certified educator courses. Therefore, in order to strengthen the existing educator program and to expand the training scope of Rioja official courses, so as to attract more audiences, the Regulatory Board of DOCa Rioja decided to refine the training content of Rioja official courses, and design a series of new Rioja learning materials.

RIOJA WINE ACADEMY (RWA) is an online bilingual (English, Spanish) learning platform that includes four types of courses for different users:

Rioja Wine Diploma
This course is designed to help all Rioja lovers get started in the world of Rioja wine. It teaches precise and practical knowledge of Rioja wine region together with traits and factors that influence the taste and quality of Rioja wine.
The course is available online at no cost with unlimited number of participants.
Diploma in Rioja Wine for Trade and Distribution
This course is designed for importers, distributors and retailers of Rioja wines, aiming to help them to gain knowledge of the Rioja region and identify the distinctive characteristics of Rioja wines. At the same time, through the study of this course, they can also have a more accurate understanding of the the Rioja wines that they are selling, so as to improve their skills in wine promotion and sales.

Diploma in Rioja Wine Tourism
Comprehensive skills training for Rioja wine and wine tourism, including the implementation of experience, activities, customer service, situation management, wine and tasting services, etc.

Rioja Wine Certified Educator
This course is focused on everyone with at least two years’ proven experience in the educational and training fields, enabling them to expand their knowledge and the rigour of their training discourse when it comes to conveying and explaining what Rioja is and why it constitutes a benchmark in terms of high-quality wines. The enrolment dates will be from 1st to 8th March 2020 and the short-listing of the candidates will be performed following these dates. Those who are short listed will have to undergo a Skype interview with members of the Regulatory Board of DOCa Rioja, and globally 25 participants will finally be chosen to take the course.
