BODEGAS D MATEOS

The winery has about 100 hectares of vineyards with an average age of 45 years. The vineyard is planted in a glass at a height of between 375 and 650 meters (slopes of Mount Yerga).

The majority of the winery’s cultivation is dedicated to the tempranillo and garnacha varieties, with plots also dedicated to the mazuelo, graciano and tempranillo blanco.

Of special interest are the plots dedicated to these last two varieties, to which Mateo Ruíz, owner, winegrower and oenologist, has devoted special interest and attention during the last years, carrying out research and experimentation projects together with the CIDA and the University of La Rioja on these varieties.
