The 2019 Recommended Rioja 8 x 8 wine challenge was held on September 19. A record of over 260 wines participated. During the competition, 5 groups of judges consisting of professional wine educators, sommeliers, media and wine lovers, marked each wine after blind tasting.

There were 8 categories, and the top 8 wines in each category were awarded as Recommended Rioja 8×8 wines (total number of winning wines: 64).
