The DOCa Rioja brings its harvest closer to international consumers and enthusiasts with the launch of the first docuseries on this subject broadcast in real time. The Heart of Harvest, (“El corazón de la vendimia”) was released worldwide on September 2, through the digital channels of the Regulatory Council, coinciding with the development of this year’s harvest. This innovative project is part of the Rioja international promotion campaign which, under the slogan “Rioja, Spain’s Finest”, continues to position the Denomination as an international benchmark.
The docuseries The Heart of Harvest will feature five episodes, each dedicated to the key figures that make the harvest possible: the winegrower (The Grower), the harvester/gatherer (The Picker), the winemaker (The Maker) and the Regulatory Council from the DOCa Rioja (The Council); the final episode will focus on the celebration of the harvest festival (The Celebration).
Each episode is broadcast just a few hours after the last scenes have been recorded, which is a real-time account, practically live, of what is happening in this vintage of 2022. The Director of Marketing and Communication of the Regulatory Council of the DOCa Rioja highlights: “This is a very ambitious project, with an unprecedented production and broadcast format in the sector, with which we intend to bring our grape harvest, practically live, to the Rioja lovers all over the world.”
