The event was organised by the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, the Chinese Cultural Centre in Madrid, the Chinese Tourism Office in Madrid and the Chinese and Foreign Cultural Exchange Centre, and was hosted by the Chinese and Western Wine Culture Exchange Association.
Fernando Ezquerro, President of the Spanish Wine Industry Association and the Corporation DOCa Rioja attended the event as an important guest.
Over the past 50 years, China and Spain have forged a friendship based on mutual respect and trust, and their exchange activities have opened new doors for mutual exchanges and cooperation in the fields of wine and tourism.
Through this cooperation, DOCa Rioja of Spain and Ningxia will also strengthen their exchanges and work together to explore new trends in the wine industry. Fernando Ezquero, President of the Corporation DOCa Rioja, said that Rioja and Ningxia are both important wine regions in both countries and “we want to create our own way of development through wine”, hoping that similar wines can promote the development of both regions.
In recent years, Ningxia has established a wine industry base in the eastern foothills of the Helan Mountains, producing wines that have won many international awards, and the wine industry has become an important part of Ningxia’s culture and tourism. DOCa Rioja is an internationally renowned wine region and a benchmark for Spanish wines, which are exported to over 130 countries and regions worldwide.
It is believed that this strong alliance will bring new opportunities for cooperation in the wine industry and more opportunities and development for each other.
